    Quick answer

How do you compare heights? Put both heights in the same unit, subtract, and view them side by side on one scale. 5′9″ (69 in) vs 5′5″ (65 in) is a 4-inch (10.2 cm) height difference. Side by side, the shorter person’s eyes meet the taller person’s nose. The height comparison chart above does this instantly for up to 8 people.

How to compare heights in 3 steps

    1

    Add people

Fill in the form: name, figure and height (a famous name fills in the height). Then choose their looks: skin tone, hair and outfit.

    2

    Adjust

Click anyone on the chart to edit them, switch between ft and cm, or drag a head up or down to change height. Clear all starts over.

When you’re comparing heights, always use the same unit: 1 inch = 2.54 cm and 1 foot = 30.48 cm. Then height difference = taller height − shorter height, and % taller = difference ÷ shorter height × 100.

    Height comparison FAQ

How do I compare my height to someone else’s?

Add yourself and the other person with your heights. The height comparison chart draws you side by side to scale and states the exact difference in inches, centimeters and percent.

How do you calculate a height difference?

Convert both heights to inches (feet × 12 + inches) or centimeters, then subtract the shorter from the taller. For example, 6′0″ (72 in) − 5′8″ (68 in) = 4 inches, or 10.2 cm.

What is a height comparison chart?

A height comparison chart shows two or more people or objects standing next to each other on the same scale, so you can see how much taller one is than another.

Can I compare my height with celebrities?

Yes. Type a famous name such as Taylor Swift, Zendaya or LeBron James and the tool fills in their commonly reported height.

    What percentile is my height?

Add yourself as a man or woman and the result shows your estimated US height percentile. A 5′9″ man or a 5′3.5″ woman is at the 50th percentile.

Is 5′10″ tall for a man?

Slightly above average. A 5′10″ man is taller than about 63% of US men.

Is 5′6″ tall for a woman?

Yes, it’s above average. A 5′6″ woman is taller than about 82% of US women.

What is a good height difference for couples?

How do heels change a height comparison?

Heels add roughly their heel height. A 5′5″ woman in 3-inch heels stands about 5′8″. Choose Footwear in the form when you add or edit a person.

How tall is 8 feet compared to a human?

8 ft (243.8 cm) is about 1.4 times the height of an average 5′9″ man, or 2 ft 3 in taller.

Can I customize how each person looks?

Yes. When you add or edit someone, choose their skin tone, hair style, hair color, outfit color, footwear and build. Everyone starts with the same neutral look until you change it.

How do I clear the chart?

Click Clear all at the top of the tool (or under the people list). You can undo it for a few seconds if you change your mind.

Can I change a height by dragging?
